Nulla di memorabile nel primo spettacolo dove Elvis pare un po' affaticato.
Nella registrazione incompleta del secondo concerto invece Elvis è in palla ed offre una grande versione di "Bridge over troubled water".
Data l'incompletezza della registrazione, dobbiamo ascoltarcelo in "Vegas showman" e lo merita davvero.

Nei concerti del mese di marzo del '75 Elvis è rigenerato: dopo i faticosi shows dell'autunno dell'anno precedente (con qualche eccezione dove offre il meglio come a Chicago, 14 ottobre, secondo me), qui lo ritroviamo davvero in forma grazie a qualche mese di riposo e di cure mediche (con ricovero ospedaliero annesso).
Io adoro lo spettacolo del 22 marzo dove canta una stupenda versione di quella gemma che è "Green green grass of home" !

1991, "The legend live", stesso discorso precedente;
2008, "A Greensboro revolution !" della mitica label "Madison" in una resa sonora stratosferica poi scopiazzato nei CD "The Greensboro show" del 2008 e "Elvis 1972-The real Elvis" (2009), un box di 10 CD e 2 DVD.
Come ho già detto in precedenza, si tratta di uno spettacolo favoloso, dall'inizio alla fine in un suono davvero grande.
Occhio alla prima edizione in quanto si trattava di un CD-R...

NOTE: secondo CD che ci offre in resa sonora pefetta numerosissime outtakes (finora inedite) tratte dalla seduta di registrazione del maggio 1966 a Nashville durante la quale Elvis incise le canzoni per il suo celeberrimo album sacro "How great Thou art".
Qui possiamo ascoltare anche l'intera session della magnifica "Love letters" e della grande "Down in the alley", ambedue registrate durante quei giorni.

NOTE: il titolo completo di questa pubblicazione è "The man in white, volume 3-Get dirty" e ci offre il bellissimo spettacolo di mezzanotte a Las Vegas del 14 agosto 1970, edito in passato nel 33 giri "Oh happy day" della "TCB Records".
Si tratta di un'audience recording col suono terribile ma Elvis è davvero grande in questa occasione ed è un vero peccato che non fu registrato dal mixer del tecnico !
La scaletta dello spettacolo contiene diverse particolarità: leggere per credere...
Alla fine del CD troviamo delle tracce bonus ma nulla di nuovo anche se sempre interessanti.

NOTE: questo bel concerto, forse il migliore di questo ingaggio del maggio 1973, è ora disponibile in resa soundboard nel CD della FTD "Takin' Tahoe tonight" (ottobre 2003).
La sua prima pubblicazione risale al 1990 (PEAF) in resa sonora audience ma molto valida.
In questa emissione della Lone Star l'audio è peggiore.
Si tratta dello show aggiunto a quelli già eseguiti per la Festa della Mamma alle ore 3 del mattino (!!!) del 13 maggio 1973 a Stateline, Sahara Tahoe Hotel, nota anche come Lake Tahoe.
Spicca su tutte una rarissima versione dal vivo della bellissima "Faded love", una sempre magnifica "My way" ed una favolosa "It's over" che, sostanzialmente, Elvis eseguì poche volte live.
Si tratta di uno spettacolo da avere ma non certo su bootleg: ottima scelta quella della FTD di pubblicarlo !

NOTE: ecco per l'ennesima volta il bellissimo spettacolo di mezzanotte del 20 agosto 1970, edito dai pirati numerose volte nel passato ma che in questa veste, a cura della label ceca Memory Records, assume davvero il carattere di "definitivo" in quanto completo ed in resa buona, anche se audience recording.
Su tutte spicccano "Polk salad Annie", "I`ve Lost You", "You`ve Lost That Loving Feeling" e "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Notevole anche "The Wonder Of You".
Un gran peccato che la RCA se ne sia andata col suo equipaggiamento dpo il dinner show del giorno 13...
Elvis esegue una breve ed unica versione di "Sweet inspiration" ed accenna a "More". Inoltre abbozza anche "Ave Maria" subito dopo "I got a woman" ed esegue "Tiger man" da sola !
Chiudono il CD delle belle bonus dal dinner show di Las Vegas del 19 settembre del 1970.

NOTE: questo CD presenta lo spettacolo pomeridiano dell'8 giugno 1975 allo State Fair Coliseum di Jackson, Mississippi.
Come gli altri concerti di questo tour, la performance è incompleta mancando il tema d'apertura, "See see rider" e "I got a woman" e le partenze di "The wonder of you" e "Let me be there".
Ancora una volta la Madison ci offre un CD con un artwork ottimo, corredato da un libretto di 12 pagine con numerose foto a colori provenienti da questo periodo.
Un appunto va fatto alla resa sonora che, pur essendo soundboard, non è fra le più memorabili del genere in quanto pecca di dinamicità con molto fruscio e qualche distorsione ed è un gran peccato in quanto il concerto è davvero bello ed Elvis è in forma.
Il motivo del titolo, che potremmo tradurre come "mosca volante" è dovuto alla presenza di uno sciame di mosche presenti vicino al palcoscenico e così ci furono diverse battute verso di esse durante il concerto. Il primo commento di Elvis, infatti, è verso questi fastidiosi animali ed anche durante "Love me" cantò "tear it all apart, damn flies !" ("strappale ovunque, maledette mosche !").
Alla fine di "If you love me" esclama "Vado a prendere uno schiacciamosche !" e dopo "Love me tender" scherza con il pubblico "Gente, avete pagato tutti questi soldi e avete fatto tanta strada per vederci scacciare delle mosche dal palcoscenico !".
