NOTE: cofanetto di 6 CD con altrettanti album, originariamente emessi negli anni '70 e '80, dalla "Camden", una budget label sussidiaria della RCA.
La mia opinione è che anche i bootleggers stiano raschiando il fondo del barile, rirpoponendo questi vecchi LP... Per molto meno, si può acquistare il 33 giri originale che, in quanto a fascino, non ha paragoni con il CD.
Non sono presenti outtakes ma tutte le tracklists originali vengono rispettate.
È incluso un libretto di 12 pagine ed un mini-poster.

Questo spettacolo fa il suo esordio su silver disc in quanto, fino ad oggi, era disponibile solo nel circuito dei CD-r.
Si tratta di uno dei migliori concerti del 1976; in quel periodo Elvis sembrava stare tornando in buona forma, sia fisica che musicale, con buone performances poi culminate con il mini-tour di fine anno.
La confezione è digipack con le fotografie scattate a Cleveland, due giorni dopo (pare che non fossero disponibili scatti della performance di Kalamazoo).
Il suono è nella media di questo tipo di registrazioni amatoriali anche se chi lo incise era un po' lontano dal palco; in questo caso, l'ascolto in cuffia è l'ideale.
Un bel CD che è degno di entrare nelle nostre collezioni.

Si tratta di un'esibizione abbastanza buona con interessanti versioni di "Burning love" e "The first time ever I saw your face".
In precedenza, questo concerto, non aveva mai visto la luce su nessun tipo di supporto, quindi è il benvenuto fra chi colleziona materiale di Elvis.
Il suono non è male ma purtroppo chi registrò, era lontano dal palco ed è per questo che, a mio avviso, lo si può classificare un gradino sotto alla normale resa sonora alla quale siamo abituati.

NOTE: doppio CD che ci fa (ri)ascoltare le registrazioni professionali effettuate il 19 giugno 1977 a Omaha ed il 21 dello stesso mese a Rapid City, poi parzialmente riportate nel TV Special della CBS "Elvis in concert".
Non vi aspettate nulla che non sia già stato pubblicato.. Si tratta di un'ennesimo CD copia/incolla di uno sconosciuto bootlegger, che nulla aggiunge alle nostre collezioni.
Ad oggi, la "cosa" migliore su questi due spettacoli è il doppio CD della "Gravel Road" intitolato "The CBS concert recordings". Aspettando la FTD che ha detto che mai sarà pubblicato...
In questo bootleg, la confezione è in digipack che si apre a tre pannelli.
Ricordo che alla fonte, il concerto di Omaha venne registrato male e che nel tempo, i nastri originali sono in cattive condizioni (dichiarazione di Jorgensen).

Il materiale è di gran classe in quanto riporta lo spettacolo registrato professionalmente a Greensboro (North Carolina) il 14 aprile 1972, disponibile da numerosi anni nel mondo dei bootlegs. Sembra davvero che lo show sia stato preso dai nastri originali in quanto il suono è al top; non è che non lo fosse in "A Greensboro revolution!" della "Madison", ma in questa nuova emissione siamo un po' più in alto.
Il secondo CD comprende una selezione di prove registrate nel marzo ed aprile 1972, e 5 brani dal vivo tratti dal grande show di Hampton Roads del giorno 9.
La confezione è in un doppio digipack con libretto di sedici pagine.
Una bellissima emissione, a mio avviso.

NOTE: doppio CD che, come caratteristica di questa etichetta nostrana, non brilla certamente per la resa sonora...
Il primo dischetto ci fa ascoltare lo spettacolo serale di Albuquerque, 19 aprile 1972.
Il secondo, invece, ci porta a Milwaukee, la sera del 14 giugno dello stesso anno.
Elvis è in forma in tutte e due le serate e le tracklists sono molto valide, a mio parere. Da segnalare per quanto riguarda Albuquerque, "For the good times" e "The first time ever I saw your face", mentre per Milwaukee citerei "Until it's time for you to go" e "Bridge over troubled water".
Peccato l'audio... Probabilmente sono stati "sbattuti" su silver disc direttamente dai rispettivi CD-r, senza ulteriore sforzo.
La confezione è in fold-out digipack con incluso un poster di 48x26 cm...
...ed una card di 24x12,5 cm.

NOTE: triplo CD in confezione digipack, solito bellissimo lavoro di questa bravissima etichetta.
Il contenuto del materiale (stranamente il titolo dell'emissione è in italiano !) proviene da una copia di una cassetta DAT datata novembre 1989 (New York). La resa sonora è eccellente e finalmente il terribile mixaggio originale se ne va.
I masters in mono sono tratti dalla prima edizione in vinile inglese.
Come bonus abbiamo "Crying in the chapel" nelle sue prime tre takes;
"(Such an) Easy question" nella versione ascoltata nel film "Tickle me";
"I believe in the man in the sky" nelle sue prime 4 takes:
"I feel that I've known you forever" tratta da "Tickle me";
"Do the clam" nella versione del film e take 5 strumentale da acetato;
infine, un'intervista del 18 agosto 1965, a Honolulu, con Peter Noone della band "Herman’s Hermits", sul set di "Paradise, Hawaiian style".

In precedenza, parte dello show era stato emesso dalla FTD in "Unchained melody", ovviamente come registrazione tratta dal mixer. Questa incisione amatoriale, con audio nella media per questo tipo di pubblicazioni, ce lo fa ascoltare per intero.
Solito buon lavoro di grafica da parte della "Straight Arrow" e spettacolo decoroso con Elvis che non è certamenente ai suoi massimi livelli (siamo nel 1977, d'altra parte, e chi lo conosce, sa bene come negli ultimi due anni della sua esistenza, il suo stato precario di salute influisse inevitabilmente sugli shows) ma siamo di fronte ad un buon impegno.
Da segnalare un breve tentativo dal vivo addirittura di "Moody blue" ! Elvis non la porta avanti ma lo farà la sera successiva, per intero.

NOTE: cofanetto di 4 CD in confezione long box con libretto di 16 pagine che focalizza la sua attenzione sugli spettacoli di Elvis ad Asheville, tenutisi nel luglio 1975.
In precedenza erano stati già pubblicati in vari bootlegs. In questo caso sono stati "ri-lavorati" al computer al fine di un miglioramento audio.
E qui si potrebbe aprire una discussione infinita su questo argomento: vale o non vale la pena di ricomperare lo stesso prodotto per ascoltarlo in un'altra edizione che ha poca differenza rispetto alla precedente?
Beh, i concerti sono stupendi e con tracklists favolose, con belle rarità dal vivo (gran tour, quello del luglio 1975 !), la confezione è molto bella, il suono è nella media per questo tipo di registrazioni amatoriali...
Chi non li ha, non se li faccia scappare.
Per fare impazzire gli hard-core collectors, la "AudiRec" ha stampato tre diverse front covers (e relative labels)...

NOTE: doppio LP e doppio CD con lo stesso contenuto, già edito dalla vera etichetta "Diamond Anniversary Edition" nel lontano 1995, in un omonimo CD.
Chi segue Elvis da tempo lo ricorderà senza dubbio in quanto fu un'emissione davvero eccezionale che ci faceva ascoltare lo spettacolo serale registrato tramite il mixer di Felton Jarvis, a Memphis, il 10 giugno 1975. Il suono era fantastico.
In questa riedizionem (che non è a cura della "DAE", badate bene... Un bootlegger ha "rubato" il nome) lo possiamo ascoltare in un doppio LP (disponibile in vinile rosso e in vinile blu), con un doppio CD in confezione cardboard sleeve.
Che dire? Si legge "suono aggionrato"... Il discorso è che con il computer, al giorno d'oggi, si fa un po' di tutto...
Dedicato ai collezionisti incalliti e a quelli che, nel 1995, se lo erano perso.

I vinili riportano le registrazioni tratte dal mixer (soundboards) risalenti a Huntsville, 31 maggio 1975, spettacolo pomeridiano (già disponibile nel CD "A wild week end in Huntsville, volume 1" ("Madison", 2007) e spettacolo serale (emesso nel CD "Across the country, volume 2", "Audionics", 2005).
Il CD ci fa ascoltare la registrazione amatoriale sempre di Huntsville ma del giorno 30, spettacolo serale. Questa fa il suo esordio su silver disc. la resa sonora è appena nella media.
Per la "gioia" dei collezionisti, sono state "tirate" poche copie ed ogni centimaio di esse, presentano gadgets diversi. La copia in mio possesso è la numero 64 ed ha i vini verdi; all'interno del packaging sono presenti due posters giganti, un adesivo ed una calamita.
