NOTE: doppio CD e LP in confezione longbox digipack a "cura" dui questa label ("cura" è volutamente fra virgolette...).
Come tutti sappiamo, il bootlegger nostrano dietro a questa etichetta prende un CD-r e lo trasforma in silver disc, senza fare altro se non qualche virtuosismo in fase di produzione, come ad esempio, due varianti di copertina (ed è questo il nostro caso), aggiungendo un poster di 50 x 26 cm ed una card di 25 x 13 cm come secondo bonus. Fumo negli occhi, a mio parere, che nasconde la pessima resa sonora dei prodotti in questione.
Il primo dischetto ci fa ascoltare la audience recording registrata a Las Vegas, il 18 agosto 1972 (dinner show). In precedenza, esso era inedito su silver disc.
Il CD 2 ci fa ascoltare il concerto di mezzanotte di quella giornata, in precedenza disponibile solo nel vinile "Not to sweet", sempre a cura della "SR Records".
Siamo di fronte a due ottimi spettacoli che hanno i loro highlights in "Polk salad Annie", "You've lost that lovin' feelin'", "A big hunk o'love" e "Polk salad Annie".
Peccato il sound...

Ascoltiamo ancora una volta, quindi, il concerto serale del 20 agosto 1976, registrato dal mixer del tecnico a Greensboro, North Carolina.
Come in tutti gli altri recenti vinili marcati "Diamond", non si tratta del vecchio bootlegger ma di un altro pirata europeo che ha rubato pure il nome della label.

NOTE: questo doppio CD è forse uno dei più interessanti degli ultimi anni, indipendentemente da cosa uno pensi riguardo il contenuto. Si tratta di molte canzoni e parti di esse, con base strumentale rifatta per la session postuma che Felton Jarvis eseguì nel 1980, al fine di ottenere quel disco che fu "Guitar man" (1981).
È evidente che non tutte le tracce sono riuscite bene (infatti moltissime sono ancora nei cassetti), ma in questi anni di penuria di inediti da studio, questa musica è la benvenuta per noi collezionisti (anche perché non sono poi trucchi come la serie "spliced takes"...).
Erano mesi che alcune canzoni "circolavano" nei forum. Un bootlegger intraprendente ha, così, pubblicato questo doppio CD che, come è annunciato, dovrebbe essere solo il volume 1.

La resa sonora è molto buona per questo tipo di registrazioni amatoriali. In precedenza questo concerto aveva visto la luce nel 1994 in "Steamrollin' Charlotte" ("JR Productions") ma in forma incompleta e con resa sonora inferiore.
Ottimo spettacolo con Elvis di buon umore. Da segnalare un'insolita "Until it's time for you to go", una potentissima "Hurt" ed una particolarmente "sporcacciona" "Steamroller blues".
La confezione del CD è in digipack a tre pannelli con libretto di 16 pagine.

Chi conosce Elvis sa benissimo che il tour del luglio 1975 fu bellissimo e che tutti gli spettacoli sono da annoverare fra quelli da ascoltare. Peccato che queste incisioni amatoriali siano di scarsa resa sonora.
Si tratta di due concerti mai emessi in precedenza.
Siamo di fronte, comunque, ad un bel CD che il collezionista non può non avere fra i suoi scaffali.
